Psychological Therapy
Through my clinical psychology training, I am experienced in using a range of approaches, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches.
I tailor my approach to each individual’s specific needs, often using elements from each of the models (this is called an integrative approach).
I help individuals and families to....
understand the difficulties they are experiencing
cope with a variety of difficulties
develop and practice new ways of managing their difficulties
by using modern, evidence based psychological approaches.
My clinical practice is guided by neurodiversity affirmative principles. I embrace autistic and ADHD experience, each individual’s unique strengths, differences and preferences and support individuals develop a positive identity.
The British Psychological Society describes what it means to be neurodiversity affirmative here.

Initial Psychological Assessment
The first time we meet, you will describe your concerns, including how the problem developed, how long you have been concerned about it and what you have already tried
doing to overcome it. You will have the opportunity to express your hopes and goals for psychological therapy.
During our first one or two meetings, I will work to identify the problem and what might be contributing to it. Once I have completed this initial assessment, I will recommend the most
appropriate next steps. This is called the intervention plan.
You are under no obligation to continue with therapy after the initial assessment phase. You can decide, at this point, whether you would like to continue working with me, taking the steps recommended in the intervention plan.

Clinical Psychology Consultation
A clinical psychology consultation can be a helpful space to discuss a concern with a specialist, and make a plan moving forward. Consultations can be related to a specific person or group of people (e.g. family, staff team) and can provide a professional opinion and advice. Utilising psychological theories, recommendations for strategies and support will be provided.
Parent consultations can be one off, or may lead to further parent consultations, family sessions, or individual sessions with the child. Parent consultations can offer support and practical strategies to help the parent support the challenges their child is experiencing through parenting. These sessions focus on helping you explore, and work through, difficulties you may be experiencing yourself, or challenges your child may be experiencing.
Consultations for teams or organisations can help in assessing the concern and together deciding on a plan moving forward. These sessions can include intervention planning and sharing resources that will support the group or individuals. Consultations can be one off, or may lead to further consultation sessions, individual wellbeing support or reflective space group support for staff.
